IAG Cargo, the cargo division of International Airlines Group (IAG) has released its financial results for the first half of 2023, reporting revenues of €603 million, or around US$660 million. This represents an 8.5 percent jump compared to the same period before the pandemic in 2019 but a 28.5 percent dive year-on-year. IAG Cargo opens state-of-the-art facility at LHR
IAG Cargo has officially opened a new 10,000-sqm handling facility at London Heathrow Airport, which will serve as a hub for handling premium loose shipments. With the ‘New Premia’ facility, IAG expects to see double the amount of cargo it will manage daily. IAG Cargo sets fees for paper air waybills in April
Starting 3 April, IAG Cargo will introduce a charging fee of £10 for paper air waybills (AWB) to encourage adoption of the electronic version or eAWB. The cargo division of the International Airlines Group introduced the eAWB as part of a ‘Destination Digital’ strategy to transform the business digitally. Titanosaur rides British Airways flight to London
Last week (2 February 2023) IAG Cargo safely delivered the skeleton cast of the world’s largest known dinosaur—Patagotitan mayorum—on a shipment from Buenos Aires to London Heathrow. The Natural History Museum partnered with IAG Cargo to deliver the full cast of the titanosaur ahead of its exhibition in London, ‘Titanosaur: Life as the biggest dinosaur,’ which will run from 31 March 2023 to 7 January 2024.
