DHL Express dedicates flights to SGN, PEN
DHL Express is making minor tweaks to its air network in Asia Pacific to meet the ecommerce boom that has spread across the region, particularly in Vietnam and Malaysia. The express service provider will now operate direct flights to Penang (PEN) from its central Asian hub in Hong Kong (HGK), replacing the previous route connected via Ho Chi Minh (SGN). DHL Express is adding more air freight capacity to as it looks to serve the growing demand between Asia Pacific and the US and Europe for express shipments fuelled by the rapid growth of e-commerce. The express operator will deploy two B777 freighters operated by Kalitta Air and Aerologic and the scheduled flight routes will offer close to 2,350 tonnes of capacity each week. Air Hong Kong will continue to support DHL Express’s growth
DHL Express has extended its partnership with AHK Air Hong Kong Limited with a new 15-year block-space agreement which will enable the carrier’s overnight air services to continue supporting the DHL Express network until 2033.
