Airbus wins US$57B orders at Paris Air Show
During the 2015 Paris Air Show, Airbus won US$57 billion worth of business for a total of 421 aircraft. The deals comprise firm orders for 124 aircraft worth US$16.3 billion and commitments for 297 aircraft worth US$40.7 billion. While not everyone left the Paris Airshow in a jubilant mood, Rolls-Royce left with at least a grin on its face after picking up a number of engine orders worth US$4.1 billion from carriers including Gulf Air, Qatar Airlines, Royal China, Condor of Germany, Cathay Pacific and AirAsia X. EUROPE & CIS: Paris show ends more upbeat for Airbus than Boeing
Airbus’ chief salesman, John Leahy departed this year’s Paris Air Show slightly more upbeat than he was before about the industry’s outlook and certainly more upbeat than his counterpart at Boeing at the annual event. VIETNAM: Vietnam Airlines ups its Airbus orders
Vietnam Airlines announced at the Paris Air Show that it has placed a firm order with Airbus for 16 more single aisle A321s and signed a Memorandum of Understanding for two additional A350-900 XWBs.
