BAWC sees increase in volume, yield and revenue

British Airways World Cargo has reported commercial revenue - flown revenue plus fuel surcharges - of £175 million (US$273.3 million) for the first quarter of the financial year beginning April 2010. This represents an increase of 36.7 per cent against the same period last year. Excluding the impact of favourable exchange rate movements, commercial revenues were up 34.6 per cent. Singapore Airlines’ Q4 net profit up six-fold

Singapore Airlines (SIA) has said its fourth quarter net profit soared more than six-fold as the global economic rebound boosted travel and cargo demand. Net profit in the three months to March was S$278 million (US$197.5 million), up from $42 million in the same quarter the year before, the company said in a statement. BAWC gets 4Q boost and full-year profit

British Airways World Cargo (BAWC) has reported commercial revenue (flown revenue plus fuel surcharges) of £550.3 million (US$790 million) for the full year beginning April 2009. This represents a decrease of 18.2 per cent against the same period last year. Excluding the impact of favourable exchange rate movements, commercial revenues were down 26.1 per cent. AF-KLM sinks deeper into red

The Air France-KLM group reported this week its biggest loss since the merger of the two carriers in 2004 with a loss of of €1.56 billion for the full-year ended 31 March, up from a loss of €814 million a year earlier. MASkargo sees 16% improvement in yield

Malaysia Airlines has ridden the economic updraft and returned to profitability in the first quarter, with increased cargo volumes and passengers, along with compensation from Airbus over delivery delays of its A380 superjumbos. The carrier announced its January-March net profit of RM310 million (US$97 million) , an improvement of more than RM1 billion from a loss a year earlier.
