China Southern Airlines has announced that it will soon start two new services to Europe and the US, as well as boost flights on current routes, in a bid to strengthen its global air cargo network, according to Xinhua. New cargo JV for Air China/Cathay
Air China and Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways will jointly set up China's biggest cargo joint venture in Shanghai in early 2010 as the two carriers aim to tap the surging cargo volumes out of Shanghai Pudong. Air Cargo Germany commences line haul flights
Air Cargo Germany (ACG) is set to begin its first line haul services to Shanghai and Hong Kong following approval from the Chinese authorities for traffic rights to both destinations, according to the carrier. Air China eager to set up Shanghai cargo carrier
China's Air China is set to buy East Star Airline and also is negotiating with Cathay Pacific and China Eastern subsidiary China Cargo Air to establish a joint venture cargo airline in Shanghai, according to a report in Chinastakes.com.
