The reported value of secondhand sales activity totalled US$26.1 billion, up 26 per cent y-o-y. European container ports are unlikely to be able to maintain the strong growth rates of the past three decades, Fitch Ratings says. Combined with the trend for ever-larger ships making fewer unloading stops, this makes risks highest for small- and medium-sized ports. Cosco Wins US$30M Livestock Carrier Contract
Singapore-based Cosco Group has through its subsidiary Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., Ltd., secured a contract worth US$30 million to build one 4,500 square metre livestock carrier for an unnamed European client. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2016.
