Emirates SkyCargo officially opened the first phase of its state-of-the-art cargo terminal at Dubai’s new Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) yesterday. The Emirates Group today announced its half-year results for 2015-16, showing continued business growth and a strong performance. Group revenue reached AED 46.1 billion (US$ 12.6 billion) for the first six months of its 2015-16 financial year, down 2.3 per cent from AED 47.2 billion (US$ 12.9 billion) during the same period last year, reflecting the impact of the strong US dollar against major currencies. Emirates SkyCargo has welcomed the arrival of its newest B777 Freighter, bringing the total number of freighters in its fleet to 15, including two B747-400Fs and 13 B777Fs. Emirates' newest B777F, which left the Boeing Manufacturing Facility in Everett, Washington, in September, flew its first mission to Hong Kong. Emirates launches second daily to Seattle
Emirates has announced its second daily service from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Seattle–Tacoma International Airport (SEA).The new service which began on 7 July and is operated by a B777-200LR supplements the current B777-300ER flight. The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has welcomed SkyCargo’s move to return to an all-in pricing on air freight shipments to and from Europe from 1st of February and on the airline's global network from 1st of March. The cargo arm of Dubai-based Emirates said the single “all-in” charge would be based on weight plus the current fuel and security fees.
