Garuda to fly to LAX or JFK from next year

Indonesian flag carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to re-operate its flight service to the US from next year targeting Los Angeles or New York, as two cities with highest potential market. Singapore Airlines, Air France KLM said to be in talks on possible partnership

Singapore Airlines and Air France KLM are said to currently be in discussions around some form of commercial partnership, in a large part driven by the competitive pressure of the Middle East carriers on routes between Asia and Europe. ANA to take 8.8% stake in Vietnam Airlines

All Nippon Airways (ANA) has signed a memorandum of understanding to buy an 8.8 per cent stake in Vietnam Airlines for  VND2.4 billion (US$108 million). The move is part of ANA’s strategy of investing in the fast-growing Southeast Asian aviation sector, which in 2013 saw the Japanese carrier take a 49 per cent share in Myanmar’s Asian Wings Airways, which was subsequently cancelled. Garuda takes delivery of new B777-300ER in SkyTeam livery
