ANA launches SAF initiative ahead of UN climate summit

October 19, 2021 by Payload Asia

All Nippon Airways (ANA) last week launched its own initiative to promote the use of sustainable aviation fuel as the company looks to join the rest of the industry in advocating the use of alternative fuel and ultimately reducing the aviation industry’s carbon footprint. The airline has received support from its forwarder partners with Nippon Express, Kintetsu World Express and Yusen Logistics announcing their participation in the SAF Flight Initiative. Cathay pledges net-zero carbon emissions by 2050

May 23, 2021 by Payload Asia

Hong Kong’s main airline is targeting net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 to help reduce the less than 3 percent of the world’s man-made carbon emissions produced by the aviation industry. Cathay Pacific Group laid out a three-pronged approach to reaching carbon neutrality. The airline will invest in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and increase its use, with the aim of making it viable for mainstream adoption. It said it will purchase 1.1 million tonnes of the converted fuel over the next … [Read more...] about Cathay pledges net-zero carbon emissions by 2050

Airlines, stakeholders discuss future on sustainable fuel

May 3, 2021 by Payload Asia

When then-16-year-old Greta Thunberg sailed to North America to avoid flying and attended the UN Climate Action Summit, perhaps everyone at that summit knew it was time to take action on sustainability, with every move under the watchful eye of the younger generation. Under pressure the aviation industry faces an opportunity to be bolder with its carbon neutral ambitions, and out of the emerging technologies the one that emerged to fill the gap is sustainable aviation fuel. So what do we do … [Read more...] about Airlines, stakeholders discuss future on sustainable fuel
