Cargo tonnage at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) reached a record-high monthly total of 367,000 tonnes in May, up a massive 41.9 per cent year-on-year, according to Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK). Lufthansa Cargo sustains upward trend
Lufthansa Cargo continued its upward trend in the second quarter of the year with the first six months seeing the cargo airline carrying 830,000 tonnes of freight and mail, around 20 per cent more than in the first half 2009. Volume growth was particularly pronounced into and out of Asia as well as to America, the carrier said. Lufthansa Cargo boosts volume 13.8%
Lufthansa Cargo boosted freight traffic by 13.8 per cent in April from a year ago despite a five-day shutdown of its Frankfurt hub. The German carrier handled 129,000 tonnes of cargo compared with 113,000 tonnes in April 2009, taking volume for the first four months to 520,000 tonnes compared to 441,000 tonnes in the same period a year ago.
