Singapore ’s Changi Airpor t Consultants has been awarded the contract to masterplan the expansion of King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, Jordan. CAI will draw up three potential plans for the expansion, which will project the facilities needed at the airport for the next 20 years. The plans will focus on airport layout, the configuration of runways, taxiways, aprons, structures, navigational aids and land use in the surrounding area.

They will also look into making the development sustainable and cost effective, with land strategy aimed at attracting investment from aviationrelated businesses. The project is part of Aqaba Development Corporation’s remit to upgrade the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
