Vietjet has announced ticket sales for five new Thailand domestic routes from 15 June 2020. These five new routes will connect the capital Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) with famous tourism and cultural destinations from North to South of Thailand including Hat Yai, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Ubon Ratchathani, and Surat Thani.

The five new routes extend Thai Vietjet’s domestic flight network to 12 domestic routes, connecting 11 destinations in Thailand. In celebration of the new routes, more than 500,000 promotion tickets from only THB5 (approximately SGD 22 cents) (excluding taxes and fees) are given away for five days, from 15–19 June 2020 during the golden hours between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (GMT+8) on the Vietjet website. The promotional tickets are valid for the travel period between 1 July to 31 December 2020, applicable to both new and current Thai domestic routes. Thai Vietjet also has a lucky draw with the top prize of ‘five-month free travel with Thai Vietjet’ for all customers booking of flights on the company’s promotional site.

Currently, Thai Vietjet is operating flight operations covering the Thailand domestic network, including routes between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, and Udon Thani. Passengers are advised to check the regulations and procedures upon arrival of each destination city and airports for smooth entry. The airline strictly complies with current safety procedures including measuring passengers and crews’ body temperature, enforcing social distancing at the airport, and on-board the flights. Passengers are required to wear face masks throughout the journey.

Following the announcement from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT), Thai Vietjet is the first and only airline confirmed to resume service of the route between Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi) and Phuket International airport to serve domestic operations from 13 June 2020.

Recently, Vietjet has also increased its Vietnam domestic flight network to 53 routes with eight new routes connecting Hanoi with Dong Hoi (Quang Binh province); Hai Phong with Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh province); Vinh (Nghe An province) with Phu Quoc; Da Nang with Phu Quoc, Da Lat (Lam Dong province), Buon Ma Thuot (Dak Lak province), Vinh and Thanh Hoa. These new routes will commence operation from 18 June 2020.

In an earlier press release, Thai Vietjet offered one-year complimentary travel to front line medical staff, including all members of Thai Covid-19 Prevention & Control Committee and doctors and nurses of 160 appointed hospitals for treatment of Covid-19 patients in Thailand as a way to appreciate the heroes who have been working hard to prevent and control the outbreak until the situation is recovered.
