Korean Air Cargo has partnered with Pelican BioThermal, which will allow the airline’s customers to use the latter’s temperature-controlled shipping containers and packaging solutions on demand, as airlines begin transporting vaccines worldwide.

With the new deal, Korean Air Cargo’s customers can get ‘rapid’ access to Pelican BioThermal’s deep frozen and frozen applications, including dry ice and phase change material (PCM) coolants, as well as cold chain shipping rental solutions through its ‘Crēdo on Demand’ programme.

“We are delighted to announce this significant partnership with Korean Air Cargo,” said Dominic Hyde, vice president of Crēdo on Demand at Pelican BioThermal.

“Together we will continue to provide safe shipper solutions to meet the rising requirements of the life science and pharmaceutical sector,” he added,

With a network spanning 121 cities in 43 countries, Korean Air Cargo specialises in pharma temperature-controlled transportation with excellent infrastructure in all gateways, including 14 cold storage facilities in Incheon Airport (ICN) with IATA CEIV Pharma certification.

The latest partnership comes as the US-based manufacturer expands its global network of industry alliances and locations to meet customers’ rising requirements worldwide.

In May, the company opened a new network station and drop point in Incheon in South Korea, strategically located near the capital city of Seoul, to allow customers in Asia Pacific to take advantage of the rental option for temperature-controlled containers.

The new drop point and network station joins more than 100 locations across the globe and will service, refurbish, repair and condition Pelican BioThermal’s reusable shipping containers.
