Teleport Commerce Malaysia Sdn Bhd has been licensed as a forwarding agent by the Malaysian Customs Department, allowing the company to issue digital customs clearance for its bulk or e-commerce delivery services.
The logistics arm of AirAsia Digital will use in-house technology ‘built to replace the traditional manual processes’ to provide Customs with ‘accurate, fast and reliable’ declarations for all types of shipment.
Serving as a digital forwarder between customers and the Malaysian Customs Department, Teleport said it can also advise shippers and recipients with regards to customs requirements for cross-border shipments.
“What this means is lower cost and faster delivery for customers from anywhere in Southeast Asia as Teleport services will be end-to-end,” said Chen Wei Kiat, digital forwarding manager at Teleport.
“We are also digitalizing the process by using technology for the whole import and export experience to be seamless for both the shipper and recipients.”
“Our technology is built in-house as we aim to be a digital logistics solution provider. Special thanks to Herdawati and Nur Insyirah from our digital forwarding team who have handled our forwarding agent application from start to finish,” he added.
In November last year, Teleport completed the accelerated rollout of its delivery services in 70 cities across Southeast Asia, with CEO Pete Chareonwongsak stating plans to provide 24-hour delivery and shipping services with a click of a button to any AirAsia destination.
