ST Engineering secures engine MRO contracts with airlines

August 7, 2021 by Payload Asia

ST Engineering this week announced two new engine MRO contracts with airlines, underscoring its value proposition of providing flexible solutions to its airline partners.

The company will extended an existing one to an exclusive five-year contract with Alaska Airlines and provide heavy maintenance on the CFM56-7B  engines of 14 Boeing 737-700 and 12 Boeing 737-900 aircraft. Services will be provided starting next year at its facilities in Singapore.

The second is another engine heavy maintenance contract awarded by an Asian airline. Under the agreement, ST Engineering will service CFM56-7B engines that will be redelivered over a 12-month period from mid-2022 to mid-2023. These services will be provided at the engine MRO facilities in Xiamen, China.

Jeffrey Lam, President of Commercial Aerospace, ST Engineering, said, “ST Engineering takes pride in providing strong support to its customers and fulfilling its value proposition with flexible solutions that are customised to evolving needs. In return, many customers continuously place their trust in what we have to offer, which allows us to see them through their growth in good as well as challenging times.”

ST Engineering’s global network of aerospace facilities includes engine MRO facilities in Singapore and Xiamen, China, which have a combined annual capacity of over 450 engines to provide operators total engine support with flexible scheduling.

It has delivered more than 10,000 engines and overhauled more than 1,500 CFM56 engines since 1999. The Singapore-based firm is currently developing capabilities to provide MRO support for LEAP-1B engines, starting with quickturn service at the end of this year.
