Leading air cargo handler Worldwide Flight Services is enabling future air cargo growth at Copenhagen Airport and its airline clients after signing a contract for a third cargo terminal covering 3,700 square metres, which is scheduled to open in Q4 next year
The investment at the airport is expected to support not only the demand for general cargo but also the life science sector in the Nordic countries with the ground handler’s GDP-certified pharma facility.
WFS opened its first 4,600-sqm cargo terminal in Copenhagen in 2008 and expanded with an additional 3,000 sqm Terminal 2 warehouse facility at the beginning of 2010. It is considered the largest handler in the city, providing inbound and outbound services for 31 airlines and cargo handling services for another 127 offline carriers.
Over the last year, WFS has renewed airline contracts at Copenhagen Airport with Qatar Airways and Sichuan Airlines. It now handles 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually across its facilities, as well as providing airside cargo handling.
