GA Telesis strengthens global IT leadership with appointment of Mika Siitari as Head of IT International Operations in Finland

May 7, 2025 by PLA Editor

GA Telesis (“GAT”) announces the appointment of Mika Siitari as Head of IT International Operations, based in Finland, effective May 12, 2025. Siitari will report directly to Gunnar Mar Sigurfinnsson, and functionally to the Chief Information Officer, Kevin Larson as part of GA Telesis’ global IT leadership team. His appointment underscores the company’s continued investment in international expansion and operational excellence.

Siitari brings over 27 years of leadership and operational experience in the aviation industry. His career began as a technician, and through a series of progressive business and IT leadership roles, he rose to become a key member of Finnair’s Operational Management Team. Throughout his career, he has successfully led diverse teams and strategic initiatives across various facets of airline operations, including Flight Operations, Technical Operations, Operations Control Center, Ground Handling, and Cargo.

During his tenure as Head of IT Operations Applications at Finnair, Siitari held responsibility for IT across the full spectrum of operational units, where he led the agile transformation across the organization and drove several initiatives centered on digital transformation, data-driven decision-making, and process efficiency.

His leadership has been marked by strong collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders, including acting as a liaison officer with EASA authorities in a regulated POA (PART-21) environment. More recently, Siitari served as a CIO in the education sector, where he advanced digital strategies and implemented new technologies to meet evolving organizational needs.

“Mika’s extensive background in operational IT and aviation, combined with his innovative approach to digital transformation, makes him an outstanding addition to our global leadership team,” said Gunnar Mar Sigurfinnsson. “His leadership will be pivotal as we continue to evolve our international IT operations to support the company’s growth and customer commitments within the global aviation industry.”
