New look Cargo iQ Board to focus on initiatives driving industry adoption of air cargo quality standards

July 22, 2026 by PLA Editor

Cargo iQ has restructured its Board to better reflect the end-to-end air cargo supply chain, with three new members elected and four members re-elected by the membership.

The new structure gives airlines, freight forwarders, and ground handling companies more balanced representation in setting Cargo iQ’s priorities and supporting industry adoption of its quality standards.

Jeanne-Mari Reardon, Vice President Air Product EMEA, CRANE Worldwide Logistics; Paul Glaser, Managing Director – Austria, Cargomind; and Calvin Hui, Head of Cargo Customer Experience and Service Excellence, Cathay Cargo, all join the Board for the first time.

“The Board plays a key role in setting long-term direction, and with our industry at a turning point, collaboration is crucial to manage the transition,” said Jeanne-Mari Reardon, Vice President Air Product EMEA, CRANE Worldwide Logistics.

The Board will help set Cargo iQ’s long-term priorities and support the implementation of projects across the membership.

The Board’s focus this year is on completing and implementing projects developed over the past two years, with the newly elected members supporting their delivery across the membership.

“These initiatives are designed to help move the industry forward collectively, and, as Board members, we are playing a key role in driving adoption and implementation across the membership,” said Hendrik Leyssens, Cargo iQ Board Chair and Vice President Process, Planning and Project Delivery, Emirates.

The Cargo iQ Board sets priorities for improving shipment quality across the air cargo supply chain, including projects to audit how consistently members follow Cargo iQ processes, improve digital information sharing, and strengthen operational standards.

Current priorities include the rollout of Cargo iQ’s Tiers Implementation System, which gives members a phased route to adopting its standards, supported by a data-driven audit programme launched on 1 April 2026 to measure how consistently those processes are followed.

“Cargo iQ’s benefit comes from both its strategic developments and the continuous development of existing standards, ensuring that all recommendations remain relevant and applicable,” said John Dowds, Senior Vice President Service Delivery EMEA, Worldwide Flight Services.

The Board has prioritised exchanging Route Maps with ONE Record and other API-driven processes, while advancing Road Feeder Services Business Cases to increase coverage and better reflect operational reality.

It is also strengthening the value proposition for Ground Handling Agents and airlines through the development of Station Route Maps.

Christian Meyer, VP Global Airfreight Systems & Solutions Delivery, DHL Global Forwarding; Jussi Lemola, Vice President Global Head of Operations, Swissport Cargo; Hendrik Leyssens, VP Process, Planning and Project Delivery, Emirates; and Rutger Jan Pegels, Director Performance Management, KLM Cargo, were all re-elected to serve on the Board for a further two years.
