DHL expands dedicated Transpacific air network with new three-times weekly flights from Bangkok to Cincinnati

July 14, 2026 by PLA Editor

DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of DHL Group, is further strengthening its global air freight network with the launch of a new dedicated Transpacific service connecting Southeast Asia with the United States, designed to provide customers with greater resilience and predictability in an increasingly volatile market environment.

At the core of the newly introduced “TransPac Connect” solution is a new dedicated cargo service operating three times weekly between Bangkok (BKK) and Cincinnati (CVG). The service offers high-capacity widebody freighter operations with up to 100 tons per flight, complemented by extensive road feeder connectivity across the U.S.

In addition to the new Bangkok–Cincinnati connection, the solution provides customers with broader access to DHL Global Forwarding’s Transpacific network through coverage in Vietnam (Hanoi) and Taiwan (Taipei), connecting shipments to key U.S. gateways including Cincinnati (CVG) and Chicago (ORD).

Strengthening network resilience through controlled capacity and global air freight coverage
In a market environment often characterised by disruption and fluctuating rates, the dedicated service provides secure main deck capacity, stable schedules, and improved cost predictability, enabling customers to plan their supply chains with greater confidence. The solution is particularly suited for oversized and high-value cargo, supported by end-to-end operational control.

Henk Venema, Global Head of Air Freight at DHL Global Forwarding: “Southeast Asia continues to gain strategic importance as a manufacturing and sourcing region. With our new Bangkok–Cincinnati connection and broader Transpacific network coverage, we are offering customers not only speed and capacity, but also the reliability and control they need to build more resilient supply chains. Expanding our controlled air freight capacity is a key lever to help customers navigate volatility and respond to disruption more effectively.”

The “TransPac Connect” service is part of DHL Global Forwarding’s broader controlled capacity strategy and is supported by a wider dedicated air freight network spanning Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. This includes multiple weekly rotations across key hubs such as Frankfurt, Liège, Amsterdam, and Hong Kong. The new connections complement DHL Global Forwarding’s recent expansion of dedicated air freight capacity between Asia and Europe, further strengthening global trade lanes and enhancing network reliability across key corridors.

By continuously investing in its dedicated air freight network and leveraging synergies across DHL Group divisions and airline partners, DHL Global Forwarding enables customers across industries to build resilience into their supply chains while maintaining flexibility, cost efficiency, and operational stability.
