Royal Air Maroc adds four new European destinations this summer

July 29, 2026 by PLA Editor

Royal Air Maroc is expanding its European network this summer with four new destinations that strengthen both its passenger offering and its belly cargo capacity. The airline has added specific locations in Spain, Italy and France that combine strong leisure appeal, diaspora links and regional trade potential. These will primarily be served with Boeing 737 aircraft, offering up to 3 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight, and feeding seamlessly into Royal Air Maroc’s extensive long-haul widebody and freighter network out of its Casablanca hub.

Two Spanish, one Italian, and one French destination were chosen: Bilbao, Alicante, Verona and Lille. Bilbao joins Madrid, Barcelona and Seville, strengthening Royal Air Maroc’s presence in northern Spain, while Alicante targets the Costa Blanca tourist region and connects the local Moroccan diaspora.

In June 2026, Verona became Royal Air Maroc’s eighth destination in Italy, alongside Rome, Milan, Bologna, Naples, Catania, Turin and Venice. And in July, Lille offers much-requested cargo capacity from northern France and also serves the Moroccan diaspora in the region.

“As a key strategic gateway into Africa, our focus at Royal Air Maroc is on connecting high-potential regional markets in Europe that can generate consistent point-to-point demand and feed cargo flows through Casablanca to destinations across Africa and other international markets in the Americas and Asia,” Rita Chraibi, Vice-President Cargo, Royal Air Maroc, explains. “While there is keen competition among leisure-focused carriers operating to these destinations, Royal Air Maroc’s ability to also deliver exceptional cargo services for a broad range of commodities is what sets us apart. These new routes support both import and export flows and increase the efficiency of our growing international network through improved frequencies, greater flexibility and more attractive transit times.”

Royal Air Maroc Cargo now serves over 81 global destinations, including an extensive European network supporting the vital flow of industrial goods, pharmaceuticals and consolidations into Africa. These new additions strengthen its role as a North–South logistics bridge between Europe and Africa, and are in line with its goal of scaling toward a global hub model, combining regional narrow-body connectivity with intercontinental widebody and freighter operations.
