UPS invests more than $2 billion to give customers even faster service, more control and more resilient global supply chains

August 25, 2026 by PLA Editor

UPS, the global leader in complex, premium logistics, announced ongoing investments of more than $2 billion across its International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions businesses. The investments, which began in 2024 and will continue through 2028, help businesses move faster and navigate shifting trade routes, evolving regulations and supply chain uncertainty with greater flexibility and connectivity across key global markets.

Projects underway include a new hub at Clark Airport in the Philippines expected to open in Q4 2026; a new Canadian facility in Barrie, Ontario, in 2027; and a new air hub at Hong Kong International Airport in 2028. These new facilities are part of UPS’s recent investments in healthcare and other strategic market segments, including high-tech, automotive and industrial manufacturing.

“Customers need end-to-end logistics that match their requirements for visibility, speed and ease,” said Kate Gutmann, UPS Executive Vice President and President of International, Healthcare and Supply Chain Solutions. “These investments allow us to bring air, ground, brokerage and distribution together in one solution, with fewer handoffs, more end-to-end control and less complexity. Combined with real-time tracking and proactive monitoring, we can handle even the most temperature-sensitive, time-critical and high-value shipments … whether across town or around the world.”

UPS operates one of the world’s largest and most integrated logistics networks and provides end-to-end visibility across modes and supply chains. Recent investments enhancing those capabilities include:

  • 27 temperature-controlled freight cross-dock facilities optimised for speed and short-term storage between air and ground movements – all while maintaining specific temperature requirements.
  • A tech-enabled logistics centre in Taiwan and expanded Incheon air hub in South Korea feature advanced automation that turbocharges processing speeds.
  • A UPS Supply Chain Solutions facility in Amsterdam brings freight, brokerage and cold-chain solutions under one roof.
  • Capacity and speed enhancements to our future-ready intra-Asia air network fueled by strong regional demand and high-growth sectors such as healthcare, technology, industrial manufacturing and automotive.
  • Flights running five times a week between Paris and Hong Kong and Shenzhen and Sydney to boost capacity and meet growing demand.

Investments like these help UPS deliver even faster and more reliably for customers like Anker, a global smart hardware technology company driven by ultimate innovation.

“UPS didn’t just help us move products. They helped us navigate the challenges that came with growth by bringing transportation, brokerage and trade expertise together,” said Adam Liu, Chief Supply Chain Officer at Anker. “As we expanded our manufacturing footprint, we were dealing with new trade requirements, new markets and a lot more complexity. UPS gave us confidence that we could keep moving forward while managing risk along the way.”

UPS’s global network is designed to offer customers seamless visibility and control of their logistics, with services including:

  • End-to-end cold-chain capabilities from the world’s No. 1 leader of complex healthcare logistics that ensure critical treatments are delivered safely and reliably to patients around the world.
  • The fastest integrated ground network in Europe covering every address on the continent, with Saturday delivery in eight leading markets.
  • One of the broadest Asia-Pacific networks of IATA CEIV Pharma-certified facilities for moving high-value, time-sensitive shipments with greater confidence, visibility and control.
  • The only integrated carrier in Canada offering automatic Saturday ground residential delivery and optional Saturday ground commercial delivery as part of its service offering.
  • Expansion of our North American Air Freight (NAAF) capabilities – introducing time-definite heavy air freight service to and from Mexico and extending coverage across North America.

Whether businesses are entering new markets, rebalancing supply chains or looking for more predictable service, UPS makes cross-border shipping easier to manage and less vulnerable to disruption so customers can keep growing.
