Gergely Szorcsik of Zoetis elected Chair of Pharma.Aero for 2026–2028

May 8, 2026 by PLA Editor

Pharma.Aero has elected Gergely Szorcsik as Chair for the 2026 – 2028 mandate, marking the first time since the organisation’s establishment in 2016 that the position is held by a pharmaceutical manufacturer.

The appointment reflects the continued evolution of Pharma.Aero as a collaborative industry platform, with pharmaceutical manufacturers taking a more active role in the organisation’s strategic direction alongside logistics providers and other key stakeholders across the global life science supply chain.

Today, Pharma.Aero brings together almost 100 stakeholders worldwide across the Life Science and MedTech supply chain, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, airports, airlines, freight forwarders, transport companies, packaging providers, visibility platforms, and other specialised service providers. One of the organisation’s defining strengths remains its ability to convene manufacturers and logistics providers within a neutral collaborative environment, enabling practical discussions around operational challenges and implementation realities.

Gergely Szorcsik, Director, Global Logistics Sourcing and Sustainability at Zoetis, has served on the Pharma.Aero Board of Directors for the past three years.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “I’m honoured to lead Pharma.Aero and thank outgoing Chairman Trevor Caswell for steering our significant growth. My priorities are strengthening global quality and visibility, expanding education and training, and extending our partnership with the University of Antwerp. By accelerating best-practice adoption and fostering cross-industry collaboration, we will translate innovation into reliable, sustainable solutions for the pharmaceutical industry worldwide.”

The leadership transition follows four years under the chairmanship of Trevor Caswell, during which Pharma.Aero expanded its global footprint, strengthened manufacturer engagement, and accelerated work across multimodal logistics, sustainability, visibility technologies, and collaborative research initiatives.

Addressing the transition, Trevor Caswell said: “As I conclude my second term as Chairman of Pharma.Aero, I reflect on a period of strong growth and increased industry impact. Over these years, Pharma.Aero has reinforced its position as a leading cross-industry platform while evolving into a multimodal ecosystem, enabling global collaboration and delivering initiatives that advance healthcare logistics. I would like to thank our leadership and our members for their trust and collaboration, which have made this progress possible.

As the newly elected Chairman, Gergely Szorcsik brings a well-rounded perspective that will support greater supply chain integration, industry collaboration, and sustainable, high-quality outcomes. Pharma.Aero remains well-positioned as a leading global platform for innovation and alignment, and I am confident it will continue to build on this momentum.”

The Pharma.Aero Board for the 2026 – 2028 mandate brings together leadership from across the healthcare logistics ecosystem: Zhong Yao Liew representing Lim Ching Kiat of Changi Airport Group, Dimitri Bettoni of Brussels Airport, Bruno Guella of Latin America Cargo City (LACC), Ruud van der Geer of MSD, Robert Carson of Edmonton International Airport, and Dimitrios Jimmy Nares of Miami International Airport. Through collaborative projects, industry opinion papers, technical reports, masterclasses, and executive-level working groups, Pharma.Aero has positioned itself as a platform focused on translating ecosystem collaboration into operational outcomes.
