DHL Express/PT BirotikaSemesta continues to be theleader in express and logisticsindustry in Indonesia,according to DHL’s nationaloperations manager, MariaChristina, who said that thecompany is enjoying doubledigitgrowth and will increaseshipments by 20 percent in2007.

"We have invested $70,000in a high technology systemto achieve higher growth,"Christina said, adding thatthe company is the marketleader in Indonesia with over50 percent market share.

To achieve the 20-percentgrowth target, DHL hasimplemented the internetbased(QSMS), which is partof a regional initiative thatprovides real-time trackinginformation of all shipments.DHL has installed the systemat its Jakarta headquartersand at Soekarno Hatta InternationalAirport.

QSMS enables DHLto proactively monitor allshipments from pick uppoints to final destination.All shipments are monitoredat 17 check pointswith real time movementin all regions covered bythe system.
