EFW recently handed over the third 3rd converted A321P2F to aircraft lessor BBAM, which will be the first passenger-to-cargo conversion of the type to be operated by the Lufthansa Group.
The yet to be branded Airbus, now with gross payload capacity of 28 tonnes, will make its way to Munich and will be operated by Lufthansa unit CityLine for the airline’s cargo division.
Lufthansa Technik took over the transfer and commissioned an external cockpit crew specializing in ferry flights for the 16 hours of pure flight time to Munich.

The German airline said in a post on LinkedIn that the next steps will include getting the necessary approvals from the German Federal Aviation Authority, the technical transfer to Lufthansa CityLine and then finally welcoming ‘Uniform-Charlie’ in Frankfurt.
The re-delivery of the aircraft marks yet another milestone for EFW’s A321P2F programme which has already converted seven aircraft of the narrowbody type.
Aside from the A321P2F, EFW also has cargo conversion programmes for the narrowbody A320 and the widebody A330. Earlier this year, it re-delivered the first converted A330P2F freighter for US-based lessor Altavair, which will be operated by MasAir.
