INDIA: Jet Airways posts loss at hands of fuel prices

INDIA: Air India set to launch new cargo services

Air India has announced plans to launch nation-wide cargo services from 1 July with its new extended operations connecting six key destinations, including: Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The national carrier said that it has completed conversion of four of its Boeing 737 aircraft which will be used on these new services with payload of around 12 to 15 tonnes each. Japan Airlines (JAL), Boeing and Pratt & Whitney are teaming up to accelerate current research and development into the creation of a second-generation biofuel, the trio said in a statement. SRI LANKA: SriLankan boosts capacity to 9 ME destinations

SriLankan Airlines has added more flights to the Middle East as the country tries to woo more tourists from the region.
