DHL Express opens new €230 million Leipzig sorting centre
DHL, a global leader in international express services, today officially opened the new sorting centre at its express hub in Leipzig. The state-of-the-art sorting facility can now handle bulkier and heavier shipments which are sorted on a fully automated basis at Europe’s most modern shipment sorting facility. London Stansted sees steady climb in cargo volumes
London Stansted Airport reported a continued upward trajectory in cargo volumes with over 21,000 tonnes of goods and products passing through the airport’s dedicated cargo facility during the month pf September, representing a 5.4 per cent year-on-year growth, to take the annual total for the last 12 months ending September to over 250,000 tonnes, an increase of 6.5 per cent over the previous year. Boeing and Qatar Airways announced an order for 30 B787-9 Dreamliners and 10 B777-300ERs, valued at US$11.7 billion at list prices. The airline also signed a Letter of Intent for up to 60 B737 MAX 8s, valued at $6.9 billion at list prices.
