Final flight test B787 in final assembly
The sixth and final Boeing 787 Dreamliner designated for flight test is now undergoing final assembly in Everett, Washington, the airframe manufacturer said this week. It said progress continues on the fleet with the first flight test airplane, ZA001, getting its paint touched up this week before finishing factory testing. China Eastern Airlines (CEA) has recently announced that it reached agreement in August of 2007 for the sale and lease back of six Boeing MD-11 freighters to the aircraft leasing unit of General Electric (GE), Dow Jones reported. The Shanghai-based carrier said it sold the six wide-body aircraft to GE Commercial Aviation Services Ltd. for US$36 to $46 million each. RR rushes to find Trent 777 icing solution
Rolls-Royce is working to find a modification to its Trent 800 engine following recommendations by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB). A second interim report on last year's crash of a British Airways Boeing 777-200 at London Heathrow said modifications were necessary to reduce the risk of ice in fuel lines which the AAIB suspected causing a flow restriction and thrust rollback of the Trent engines.
