APAC airlines report increased cargo demand
Preliminary traffic figures for the month of November released by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) showed that both international passenger and air cargo markets recorded further growth in demand. International air freight demand accelerated in November, driven by strong growth in shipments of electronic goods going into the year-end festive season. IATA reports 4.2% rise in Nov air freight
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported November 2014 data for global air freight markets showing that demand measured in freight tonne kilometers (FTK) grew 4.2 per cent compared to November 2013. Capacity grew by 3.3 per cent over the previous November. Compared to October 2014, air freight demand expanded by a healthy 0.8 per cent. Hawaiian Air applies for Tokyo-Kona service
Hawaiian Airlines filed an application with the US Department of Transportation (DOT) to begin service this summer between Tokyo International Airport at Haneda (HND) and Kona International Airport (KOA) on Hawai'i Island.
