US FAA downgrades Thailand to Category 2
The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has downgraded its safety rating of Thailand's Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) from a 'Category 1' to a 'Category 2’ rating, following earlier findings by the United Nation's International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) and its own recent assessment. IAG Cargo upsizes from A321 to B777 on London-Tel Aviv
From March next year, IAG Cargo is replacing its remaining A321 with wide-body B777-200s between London Heathrow and Tel Aviv. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released data for global air freight markets showing that air cargo volumes measured by freight tonne kilometers rose just 0.5 per cent in October compared to a year ago. Mechanical, human factors behind AirAsia QZ8501 crash
Indonesian investigators say a chronically faulty component and the crew's attempts to fix the problem contributed to the crash of an AirAsia passenger aircraft last year, killing all 162 aboard.
