FedEx Corp has confirmed the market speculation, as reported by Payload last week, by signing a deal to purchase 50 additional B767-300 freighters in the biggest order ever for the aircraft type, allowing the aircraft maker to extend its production line well into the next decade. Thai transport minister not confident on FAA audit
Thailand’s Transport Minister Prajin Juntong admitted this week that he was not sure that all the necessary steps taken by the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to improve aviation safety standards supervision will pass the approval of the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). FedEx may be on the verge of a US$10 billion order for 50 or more B767-300Fs and up to 10 B777Fs worth another $3.2 billion at list prices, according to a report in Leeham News and Comment citing "Market Intelligence".
