AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has reported a 20 per cent increase in tonnage for the first quarter of 2015, continuing the trend set by previous years. In the January 1-March 31 period this year, ABC carried 103,816 tonnes across its international route network connecting customers in Europe, the US and Asia Pacific through its hub in Moscow. VietJet in talks over joint ventures
Vietnam-based low-cost carrier (LCC) VietJet Air is looking to expand its north Asian reach using alliances and joint ventures (JV) with other airlines, rather than extend its existing route network. The airline said it initially wants to establish JVs with other carriers in South Korea, Japan and Taiwan. IATA: CNY, US port delay boost Feb air freight
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) released February data for global air freight markets showing a sharp increase in year-on-year air freight volumes. Growth measured by freight tonne kilometers (FTK) was up 11.7 per cent in February, compared to February 2014. Capacity grew 7.4 per cent. Turkish Cargo is offering new services to two cities: Chicago and Kuwait City. The all-cargo weekly flight to Chicago O’Hare will supplement the already healthy belly capacity currently available in multiple Turkish passenger flights to cities in both the US and Canada.
