Air Canada Rouge, the recently-launched “leisure airline”, will arrive in Asia for the first time next year. Qatar Airways takes delivery of its first A380
Qatar Airways took delivery of its highly anticipated first A380. With 10 A380-800s on order, the carrier is preparing to take delivery of four of them before the end of this year. The airline will first introduce A380 services on one of its frequencies on the Doha-London route from October, followed by Paris Charles De Gaulle shortly thereafter. Aug cargo figures up for Cathay, Dragonair
Cathay Pacific and sister airline Dragonair have reported carrying 146,955 tonnes of cargo and mail last month, an increase of 19.7 per cent compared to August 2013. Cargo and mail load factor rose by 3.8 percentage points to 62.5 per cent. Capacity rose by 13.3 per cent while the revenue earned per flown tonne of cargo and mail (RTKs) was up 20.6 per cent. Cargo numbers have increased at Qatar’s Hamad International Airport (HIA), with an additional 12.76 per cent traffic in July. All cargo operations are now operating out of the new airport where the facility is fully automated, creating a seamless experience for both the cargo agents and customers. ACI Asia-Pacific has reported that worldwide freight volumes continue to show signs of strong recovery with improvements in global trade and commerce.
