Canada to screen cargo in passenger bellies
In a move mirroring steps already well underway in the US, the Canadian government has announced a C$96 million (US$88.8 million) plan aimed at improving the security of Canadian air cargo, citing the potential for terrorist attacks within the commercial cargo system. TNT launches Moscow-Liege freighter service
TNT Express has launched a five day per week air cargo service linking Moscow and its main European hub Liege, via Warsaw. The new route, operated by a B737-300 freighter providing 16 tonnes of capacity, will secure and speed up the expedition of time-critical shipments to and from Russia. Agility’s first quarter profit plummets
Kuwait-based global logistics company, Agility has reported a drop in first quarter net profit by 52 per cent from a year ago to KD17.5 million (US$60.1 million) and warned future earnings will suffer from the loss of US military contracts in the wake of fraud charges.
