Qatar Airways Cargo has boosted dedicated freighter services to Senai International Airport in Johor Bahru, Malaysia on a twice-weekly schedule. The new freighter schedule has been combined with the carrier’s road haulage operations to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to offer convenient timings for shipping beyond Johor Bahru. Yemenia, the official carrier of the state of Yemen, based in Sanaa, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for 10 Airbus A320 Family aircraft. The aircraft will be deployed to enhance and expand services on regional, African, Indian and European routes, the carrier said. Yemenia’s fleet includes two A330- 200s and three A310s. MIDDLE EAST: Etihad to be first to fly A330-200F
Etihad Crystal Cargo will be the first carrier to fly the new freighter version of the Airbus A330-200. The launch customer was to be India-based cargo start-up, Flyington Freighters, who had placed an order for a dozen of the aircraft. Etihad has three of the aircraft on order and will receive its first aircraft in mid-2010. To date, Airbus has booked orders for 69 planes from 10 customers.
