A shortage of air cargo capacity has hindered the export of the Kutchi Kesar variety of mangoes in the Bhuj border district in the Indian state of Gujarat. Newly elected Philippine President Benigno Aquino III has appointed businessman Angelito Alvarez as the new chief of the Bureau of Customs (BOC). Malaysia's Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) in Sepang outside of Kuala Lumpur will be converted into a cargo terminal once the construction of a new budget terminal is completed in the first quarter of 2012, according to the country's Transport Minister, Kong Cho Ha. Once converted for cargo handling, the old LCCT will be able to handle 320,335 tonnes of cargo per year, increasing the overall cargo capacity of Kuala Lumpur International Airport to 1.31 million tonnes per year.
