Agility's first quarter profit plummets
Kuwait-based global logistics company, Agility has reported a drop in first quarter net profit by 52 per cent from a year ago to KD17.5 million (US$60.1 million) and warned future earnings will suffer from the loss of US military contracts in the wake of fraud charges. Commerce ministry spokesman Yao Jian stated that China's trade surplus will fall steeply as the renminbi rises against foreign currencies, reported state media. Surpluses narrowed in the first quarter of 2010, with China declaring a US$7.24 billion trade deficit in March. Afriqiyah Airways flight enroute from Johannesburg to London Gatwick crashed in Tripoli early Wednesday morning while on final approach, killing all but one onboard according to reports. Southern Air and Malaysia Airlines Cargo (MASkargo) have announced that they have entered into a multi-year, multi-aircraft wet lease agreement.
