The first Boeing 777 Freighter to enter Qatar Airways' fleet has been placed into service after the Doha-based carrier took delivery of the aircraft on 17 May. Agility's first quarter profit plummets

Kuwait-based global logistics company, Agility has reported a drop in first quarter net profit by 52 per cent from a year ago to KD17.5 million (US$60.1 million) and warned future earnings will suffer from the loss of US military contracts in the wake of fraud charges. Revenues during the period fell 14.4 per cent to KD403 million as compared to the previous quarter. China's 2010 trade surplus expected to fall sharply

Commerce ministry spokesman Yao Jian stated that China's trade surplus will fall steeply as the renminbi rises against foreign currencies, reported state media. Surpluses narrowed in the first quarter of 2010, with China declaring a US$7.24 billion trade deficit in March. China's trade surplus in April decreased 87 per cent from a year earlier, and the national surplus could nearly halve this year. Over 100 killed in Afriqiyah Air A330 crash

Afriqiyah Airways flight enroute from Johannesburg to London Gatwick crashed in Tripoli early Wednesday morning while on final approach, killing all but one onboard according to reports. The crash which reportedly killed all but one of the 93 passengers and 11 flight crew members leaving a field scattered with smoldering debris that included a large chunk of the tail painted with the airline's brightly colored logo. MASkargo deal with Southern for 3 B747Fs

Southern Air and Malaysia Airlines Cargo (MASkargo) have announced that they have entered into a multi-year, multi-aircraft wet lease agreement. Southern Air initially will provide MASkargo with three Boeing 747 Freighters along with crew, maintenance and insurance.
