The Singapore Aviation Academy (SAA) has opened its fourth specialised aviation training school. JAPAN: Japan/Korea codeshare for ANA & Asiana
Star Alliance member airlines ANA and Asiana commenced a code-sharing agreement on Asiana operated daily flights between Kansai airport in Osaka and Gimpo airport in Seoul, as well as between Kansai airport and the island resort of Saipan, from December 2008. JAPAN: ANA reduces fuel surcharges for cargo
ANA has applied to Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) to reduce its surcharge on international cargo shipments from January 1 to March 31, 2009. JAPAN: Nippon Cargo won’t see B747-8F until mid-2010
Nippon Cargo Airlines has had to defer the introduction of Boeing’s next generation jumbo jet until summer 2010 due to delays at the aircraft manufacturer. HONG KONG: Cathay scales back cargo operations
Cathay Pacific Airways is scaling back its cargo business as part of a swath of efforts aimed at cutting costs at the airline amid declining demand.
