UPS said it will launch a new “around-the-world” flight this summer to further enhance service between Singapore and markets in the Middle East, Europe and the US. DHL Middle East expands capacity
DHL’s investment in the Middle East will initially add 35 vehicles with a further 15 vehicles to be added at a later date, bringing the company’s fleet to a total of 250 vehicles on the region’s roads. TNT to use biofuel
TNT has launched a pilot project in India to use bio fuel for its delivery vehicles. The initial phase will see specially trained drivers run three bio fuel trucks between Pune, Nasik and Bangalore, covering a total of 45,000 kilometres per month. Routes and driving times are optimised to further reduce carbon emissions. If the project proves efficient, TNT intends to expand it within its Indian fleet of vehicles. UPS faces law suit over measurements
A suit seeking class action has been filed in US District Court in San Francisco against UPS Inc., claiming that the Atlanta-based integrator “routinely uses an inaccurate measurement system that causes thousands of franchise store owners to be back-charged for higher shipping rates.” UPS was not immediately available for comment.
