Doha’s Hamad International Airport (HIA) saw cargo tonnage continue to grow strongly during the first half of 2016 by a full 20.3 per cent year-on-year, totalling 817,792 tonnes, further strengthening HIA’s position as one of the world’s major cargo hubs. Singapore Airlines (SIA), which has 19 A380s in its fleet, has decided not to extend the lease contract for its first A380 which was the first of five A380s delivered from 2007. Hong Kong Airlines confirms order for 9 more A330s
Hong Kong Airlines has placed a firm order with Airbus for nine additional A330-300 aircraft. The aircraft will be operated across the carrier’s Asia network and beyond. VietJet announces Hong Kong-Ho Chi Minh City service
Vietnam’s rapidly expanding low cost carrier, Vietjet has announced the opening of a new international route linking Hong Kong with Ho Chi Minh City. The route will commence operations on 9 December. Cathay group volumes, yield improving
Cathay Pacific Airways today released combined Cathay Pacific and Dragonair traffic figures for August 2016 showing an increase in the amount of cargo and mail uplifted and a drop in the number of passengers carried compared to the same month last year. The two airlines carried 153,733 tonnes of cargo and mail in August, an increase of 3.8 per cent compared to the same month last year.
