Envirotainer, manufacturer of cold chain solutions for air transport of pharmaceuticals, opened a new container station in Beijing on 1 September as it looks to ramp up capacity to support the fast and secure delivery of Covid-19 vaccine once it becomes available.
With China’s rapidly growing pharmaceutical export market, the Beijing network station, as the company puts it, will carry its RKN e1 and RAP e2 containers to increase the current capacity in Asia Pacific and to service its Beijing customers who previously had to rely on Envirotainer’s station in Shanghai.
Envirotainer said it has been expanding its sales offering in Asia Pacific over the past years, with Beijing becoming the 35th station to carry the flagship RAP e2, which the company claims is more environment friendly and cost efficient than other temperature-controlled container products.
“The Beijing area is a growing pharmaceutical hub for all types of temperature-sensitive cargo. With the new station we want to create a significantly better customer experience for our Beijing area customers by reducing the need for trucking units between regions,” said Suat Toh, head of sales APAC at Envirotainer.
