Abu Dhabi Int’l sees 6.2% decline in April volumes
Abu Dhabi Airports reported a sharp 6.2 per cent decline in cargo throughput at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) to 63,500 tonnes in April, year-on-year. Year-to-date cargo volumes are down 4.8 per cent to 254,907 tonnes. Aircraft movements at AUH were down marginally by 1.0 per cent to 14,074. Passenger traffic at AUH for April 2016 rose 4.8 per cent compared to the same month last year to 1.96 million. Etihad Cargo has expanded its Middle East network to Kuwait by adding an additional freighter and introduced a new twice weekly service into Muscat in Oman. Abu Dhabi Airports said it handled 64,067 tonnes of cargo at its three terminals in February 2015, a 12.6 per cent increase when compared to February 2014. Abu Dhabi airport sees 12.8% cargo growth
Abu Dhabi International Airport handled 797,069 million tonnes of cargo in 2014, representing a 12.8 per cent on the previous year.
