Qatar Airways resumes flights to Nairobi and Kigali, adds more cargo capacity

Qatar Airways is restarting services to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) in Nairobi, Kenya with 14 weekly flights and to Kigali International Airport (KGL) in Rwanda with three weekly flights, a press release confirmed. With the addition of Kigali and Nairobi, the airline now operates 33 weekly flights to eight destinations in Africa, including Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, Djibouti, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and Tunis.  With almost 15 years of operations to Nairobi and eight years of … [Read more...] about Qatar Airways resumes flights to Nairobi and Kigali, adds more cargo capacity

25by2025 gains momentum with 59 airlines joining the campaign

Air China to open two Africa routes

Air China will start Beijing-Johannesburg nonstop service using B777-300ER aircraft from 29 October 2015, which will be the first air link offered by a Chinese carrier between Mainland China and South Africa and also Air China's first route to Africa since the 1970s when it had one nonstop service to the continent. Virgin calls for industry-wide ethical cargo policy

Virgin Atlantic Cargo has welcomed the latest moves by other airlines to ban the carriage of hunting trophies and says it is now time for the airline cargo industry to adopt a strict ethical cargo policy to clearly identify shipments not acceptable for carriage. Etihad Cargo launches AUH-BZV service

Etihad Cargo has increased its freighter services to Africa with the launch of a cargo only service from Abu Dhabi (AUH) to Maya Maya Airport, Brazzaville (BZV), in the Republic of Congo.  Operating twice weekly using a B777F freighter aircraft, the new service will fly from Abu Dhabi to Brazzaville via Lagos airport (LOS) in Nigeria.
