Major expansion to main Oman airport underway
Work has begun on expanding Seeb International Airport, located outside Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, with a new runway and controltower taking shape. Expansion is planned in four stages, ultimately boosting the airport’s capacity to 48 million passengers by 2050 (it handled 4.8 million passengers in 2006). HACTL sees nearly 20% volume drop in Nov
Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Ltd (HACTL) said cargo throughput in November dropped 19 per cent year-onyear to 184,158 tonnes. Export volume was 107,592 tonnes for November and 1,189,319 tonnes for the first 11 months, down 20.7 per cent and 3.2 per cent year-on-year, respectively. Import volume for November was 42,546 tonnes while the volume for the fi rst 11 months was 544,402 tonnes, down 23.1 per cent and 4.1 per cent, respectively.
