<rhymes with perogy> This next item is part rant, part rave and part media relations lesson. We recently were in Los Angeles for the annual FIATA congress and while visiting the exhibition area stopped an IT exhibitor’s booth – who shall remain unnamed (simply because my advertising colleague doesn’t want them to be too badly offended…tsche!) although we can say their name rhymes with that delicious Ukrainian specialty, perogy. Ohhhh yes we know…we’re … [Read more...] about

Time for the industry to reshape itself: IATA
The world has changed dramatically in its just over 100 year history and yet the air cargo industry is still applying the same business model that it has relied on for at least the last four decades – certainly since the advent of the widebody aircraft – notes IATA’s director, cargo distribution, Glyn Hughes. “We know we have a mature business model and we believe the industry must reshape – we need to take stock of where we are and what we need to do to reshape … [Read more...] about Time for the industry to reshape itself: IATA

Hartsfield-Jackson: Atlanta’s ‘economic engine’
Ranking 33rd in Airports Council International’s 2012 ranking, Atlanta saw 663,162 tonnes of cargo move through the airport in 2011. But with aggressive promotion of not just the airport but the surrounding catchment area by airport officials, local chamber of commerce and enthusiastically probusiness Atlanta Mayor, Kasim Reed, more and more cargo operators have chosen to make Hartsfield-Jackson part of their global network. And its not hard to see why. As an airport … [Read more...] about Hartsfield-Jackson: Atlanta’s ‘economic engine’
