NYK has invested US$5 million in Singapore-based Jett8 Airlines Cargo, following an agreement reached in February 2007. Singapore Airlines plans to increase its Shanghai-Singapore services by 25 percent by July 1. From June 17, Singapore Airlines is offering three more direct fl ights a week from Shanghai to Singapore, Xinhua reported, citing Ho Yik Wing, general manager of Singapore Airlines China. Singapore Airlines has signed a contract with Airbus for 20 A350-900 XWB aircraft with options to purchase 20 additional units, affi rming the Letter of Intent signed and announced by the parties in July last year. Deliveries for the 20 aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2013 and run through to 2015. The A350-900 XWB will be able to carry over 20 tonnes of cargo.
