Press release Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) released Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) traffic statistics for April 2021. During the month, cargo throughput saw a year-on-year increase of 15.5 percent to 389,000 tonnes. HKIA handled 60,000 passengers and 10,375 flights, marking year-on-year increases of 89.0 percent and 9.9 percent, respectively. DHL Express opens $131m hub at Malpensa Airport
DHL Express has opened a new logistics hub at Milan’s Malpensa Airport (MXP), valued at €110 million (US$131 million) euros, as part of a €350 million (US$418 million) investment plan in Italy. The company will operate over 30 daily flights from the new hub and nearly 38,000 pieces per hour through automated sorting and scanning systems, it noted, enabling 12 times more operational capacity. Liege Airport weathers 2020; tonnage up 24 percent
Liege Airport was one of the few airports in Europe and the world to perform well despite the nightmarish 2020, thanks to its full-cargo operations. The cargo hub saw a 24 percent increase in tonnage to 1,120,643 tonnes from 902,480 in 2019.
