Low-cost carrier Norwegian Air Shuttle has confirmed an order for an additional six Next-Generation 737-800s bringing its total order of 737s to 48. It also has an order for 22 aircraft from leasing companies. The Oslo-based carrier has been opening up new markets in Europe and beyond since it was founded 1 September. British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia may have to give up take-off and landing slots for their Oneworld transatlantic alliance to go ahead, the Financial Times reported. AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC), part of Volga-Dnepr Group, is launching a new B747 freighter service from one of its European gateways at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Tokyo, Japan. ABC said that the new B747-400 all-cargo flight has been launched in response to demands for capacity on the route from its freight forwarding customers. On 24 November 2009 Kuban Airlines is launching a scheduled air service from Krasnodar to Dubai (UAE). Kuban Airlines is an airline based in Krasnodar, southern Russia and operates domestic schedules within Russia, along with international charters.
