British airport operator BAA has submitted a GBP2.5 billion (US$5 billion) plan to the UK Department for Transport to add a second runway and new terminal at London Stansted Airport by 2015. The two-runway, two-terminal airport is expected to open in 2015, serving 68 million passengers a year by 2030. Finnair is set to launch flights from its Helsinki hub to Yekaterinburg, Russia and increase frequencies to its two established Russian destinations. It will become the second Oneworld carrier to serve Yekaterinburg, alongside Mal¨¦v Hungarian Airlines. Lufthansa Cargo and Russia have reached an agreement that will see the German carrier move its regional transit hub from Astana in Kazakhstan to Krasnoyarsk in Siberia. INDIA: 'GO' for GoAir fleet expansion
GoAir has said it plans to introduce five new aircraft over the next 12 months, adding to its current fleet of six. The carrier also plans to add 5-6 aircraft to its fleet each year until 2012, when it expects to operate a total of 31 A320s.
