KLIA welcomes new cargo airline; air cargo traffic up in June
Malaysian airport operator MAHB saw the number of cargo flights jump year on year for the month of June as travel restrictions continued to curtail passenger traffic. MAHB recorded 187,000 passengers in June, down 57.1 percent from the same month last year, amidst the decline seen at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and other local airports it operates. Hong Kong cargo traffic sees double-digit growth in June
Traffic figures released for June 2021 by the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) reveal that Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) saw cargo volume jump 11.5 percent year on year with 399,000 tonnes, whilst passenger traffic climbed more than 40 percent from June of last year, with flight movements up over 10 percent. Vietnam Airlines is set to resume several routes connecting to destinations in Asia, Europe, and Australia from mid-July to end-October, Vietnam News Agency reported.
