Cargo-in-cabin flights beyond 31 July are set to cease across the Europe Union, according to a recent announcement from the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The agency has determined that the exemptions delivered in this context will not be extended from August of this year. Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Alibaba Group, is expanding its air freight network from its fulfillment hub at Kuala Lumpur airport (KUL) in Malaysia with the launch of new export routes. Nippon Express opens new warehouse in Kuala Lumpur
Nippon Express (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd opened a new warehouse in the free commercial zone (FCZ) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) on April 1. The new warehouse located at the Cainiao Aeropolis eWTP Hub will expand the forwarder’s existing work and cargo storage space in Malaysia and give it a combined warehouse space of around 9,700 sqm. Maersk’s new air freight company takes off
Maersk is looking to enhance its air freight offering as it announced the launch of its air freight unit, Maersk Air Cargo, which is expected to be fully operational in the second half of 2022. Automated nomination, the digital declaration of a forwarder’s involvement in the handling of a shipment, has become the standard for inbound shipments at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, which no longer accepts paper declarations as of 1 April.
